Transition Year 6-7

At West Wallsend High School we have many programs in place to ensure the successful transition of students from primary school into high school.

From early in their final year of primary school, our Learning and Support Team connect with students and begin to gather information that is relevant to building a successful support system for incoming students. Various aspects of each student’s academic, social and medical history are looked at to ensure we have the best strategies in place for students to thrive in their new high school environment.

1st Taster Lesson Afternoon

Thursday 19 May from 12:30-3pm (approx) 

Shadowing Days

Small groups of students shadow Year 7 2022 for the day. Commencing Monday 25 July, parents/carers will be informed of the date for their young person's shadowing day closer to the time.

2nd Taster Afternoon

As the Year Advisor for Year 7, 2023 Ms Chambers is working closely with the transition team and our partner primary schools.
 
Parents and carers whose children require additional support should contact the high school as soon as possible to assist us to provide the necessary support.
