At West Wallsend High School we have many programs in place to ensure the successful transition of students from primary school into high school.
From early in their final year of primary school, our Learning and Support Team connect with students and begin to gather information that is relevant to building a successful support system for incoming students. Various aspects of each student’s academic, social and medical history are looked at to ensure we have the best strategies in place for students to thrive in their new high school environment.
Students can apply for placement in Spark and Horizon classes; further information and criteria are available at the links below:
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Spark Class
Horizon Program (Previously known as Middle School).
NSW public schools are well prepared to support students with disability and additional learning and support needs and staff are ready to answer your questions.
